[ February/March 2007 Newsletter ]

Shalom Brethren and Friends in Yahweh,

Time has quickly passed since our last communication. We come to you with great joy and thankfulness for all that Almighty Yahweh is accomplishing through this ministry. May our Heavenly Father bless each and every one who has joined us in our efforts to accomplish His will by feeding the flock with the truth of His Word.

Since the inception of this ministry, the importance of Yahweh’s Truth in these end-times has been impressed deeply upon us. Through Yahshua our Savior, truth sets us free from the bonds and oppression of sin that will bring destruction. “So Yahshua was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, ‘If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.’ They answered Him, ‘We are Abraham's descendants and have never yet been enslaved to anyone; how is it that You say, 'You will become free?’ Yahshua answered them, ‘Truly, truly, I say to you, everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin. ‘The slave does not remain in the house forever; the son does remain forever. So if the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.’ (John 8:31-36; NASU)

At this time of the year we are reminded of how the nation of Israel was set free from the bondage of Egypt. The first Passover pointed toward the coming Lamb of Yahweh, who brings salvation to all those who believe in Him as the Messiah. Through Yahweh’s Truth, Yahshua delivers each of His people from the Egypt of sin (Hebrews 11:24-25). Truth, along with the Holy Spirit, is needed to offer proper worship to Almighty Yahweh. “Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. Yahweh is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth." (John 4:23-24; NIV)

The Truth, which is defined as the Word of Yahweh (Torah), is the identifying characteristic that sets Yahshua’s true disciples apart from others and unites them as a cohesive unit with Yahweh (Deuteronomy 6:4), Yahshua and each other. Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth. As You sent Me into the world, I also have sent them into the world. For their sakes I sanctify Myself, that they themselves also may be sanctified in truth. I do not ask on behalf of these alone, but for those also who believe in Me through their word; that they may all be one; even as You, Father, are in Me and I in You, that they also may be in Us, so that the world may believe that You sent Me. The glory which You have given Me I have given to them, that they may be one, just as We are one; I in them and You in Me, that they may be perfected in unity, so that the world may know that You sent Me, and loved them, even as You have loved Me.” (John 17:17-23; NASU)

As people who have believed because of the word of those who were inspired to write the books and epistles of the New Testament, we must make sure that we are sanctified by the truth and in unity with Yahweh and Yahshua and those who believe. It will soon be time for us to meet with Yahweh and Yahshua at the Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread. In order to be able to dwell with Yahweh spiritually, we need to be an honorable people who have truth in our hearts.

“O Yahweh, who may abide in Your tent? Who may dwell on Your holy hill? He who walks with integrity, and works righteousness, And speaks truth in his heart. He does not slander with his tongue, Nor does evil to his neighbor, Nor takes up a reproach against his friend; In whose eyes a reprobate is despised, But who honors those who fear Yahweh; He swears to his own hurt and does not change; He does not put out his money at interest, Nor does he take a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things will never be shaken.” (Psalm 15; NASU)

As recipients of Yahweh’s Truth, it is up to us to be ready at the appointed times by purifying ourselves within in fulfillment of Psalm 15. We are required to have truth within so that we can worship Yahweh in spirit and in truth.

Those who are born of the Spirit will obey Yahweh’s covenant. The Holy Spirit of Yahweh, as the power from on high, reveals the truth to us and brings all things to our remembrance. “If you love me, you will obey what I command. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever — the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept it, because it neither sees him nor knows it. But you know it, for it lives with you and will be in you.” (John 14:15-17; NIV) “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you.” (John 14:26; NASU)

As we approach the Passover and Feast of Unleavened Bread season, let us remember that we were delivered from the bondage of Egypt (sin) by the sacrifice of the Lamb of Yahweh, Yahshua the Messiah. As the Word of Yahweh that was made into flesh, He has revealed Yahweh’s Truth and given the Spirit of truth to His disciples.

As true worshipers, we have been entrusted with the precious gift of truth. It is up to us to pass that spiritual legacy on to others. Let us be faithful to the responsibility we have so that we might preserve the truth within our hearts and minds. Because we know the truth, much more is expected of us. As Yahshua said in Luke 12:48b, “. . . From everyone who has been given much, much will be required; and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more.” (NASU)

Let’s be prepared to worship Yahweh in spirit and in truth at the upcoming feast days. Have a great Passover and Feast of Unleavened Bread!

  • 12th Month New Moon
On the evening of February 18, the new crescent was sighted by a number of individuals around the world. With this visible manifestation, the 12th month began on February 19. It is difficult to believe that we are once more close to the Passover and Feast of Unleavened Bread season. We recommend that all watch for the next new moon, which should be the sign for the beginning of the new year. Watch on the evening of March 19, and contact us with any information you have on this important new crescent. Call us at 1-888-FOR-YPTC.

Weather conditions permitting, this new moon should be easily visible throughout the USA and southern Canada. It will be seen the next evening (March 20) in the Far and Middle East and throughout Europe, the UK, and Africa.
  • Monthly Study
Last month’s study on Valentine’s Day was well received. The studies are not included with the online version of the newsletter. However, they are mailed along with the monthly print copy. If you are interested in participating and are not now on the physical mailing list, please contact us for more information.

You can reach us several different ways: by phone at 1-888-FOR-YPTC (367-9782), by e-mail at contactus@yahstruth.org, and by mail at YPTC, PO Box 547, Loganville, GA. 30052.
  • Purim
Purim 2007 fell on March 4. If you are not familiar with this inspirational story, refer to the book of Esther. During this time of domination by the Persians, the Jews were threatened by potential destruction at the hands of evil and wicked men. They were spared due to the faithfulness and dedication of Esther and her uncle Mordecai, who were loyal in their responsibilities to the king and also to their obligations to their people. It is truly an inspiring story. On the fourteenth day of Adar, which is the 12th month on the sacred calendar, Yahweh blessed the Jews with a great victory over their enemies.

The book of Esther is a short read, but provides immense encouragement for the True Worshiper. It reminds us that Yahweh will be there to fight our battles for us if we completely rely on Him, even against seemingly insurmountable odds.
  • Passover Ingredient List
We have included with this publication a list of products and ingredients to assist you with your Passover cleaning. If you have any questions or information to supplement this list, please contact us.
  • “A Pure Language”
Also included this month is a copy of our new article, “A Pure Language.” This article takes a closer look at the words and language one chooses in daily life. Why do some elect to avoid using certain controversial terms and others do not? Should we refuse to even utter specific words or phrases? What does the Bible really say on this subject? This article addresses these questions. We hope you enjoy reading it.
  • Calendar
The 2007/2008 wall calendar has been published and mailed along with this newsletter. Please note that along with showing all of the annual feast days, the calendar also lists New Testament and Torah weekly readings. Readings for the New Testament begin in Abib and end on the Last Great Day of the Feast of Tabernacles. Then from the end of FOT until The Feast of Unleavened Bread are listed the weekly Torah portion readings. These scriptures are not mandatory reading. The first calendar we produced listed the weekly Torah portions. It was requested by a number of people that we do this again for those who wish to participate.
  • Trip to Israel
Once again we will be sending two representatives to Israel to participate in the Abib search. In all probability the findings should not affect the holy day dates that we have published.

The Abib search is sponsored by Nehemia Gordon and his Karaite associates. We are appreciative that we can be part of the fulfillment of this important yearly mitzvah (Deuteronomy 16:1 & 6).

We hope to publish updated reports on the YPTC website. Information should be posted on our website beginning on March 15.

Along with Nehemia and other Karaites, there will be a number of other Torah-observant people from different religious affiliations. Nehemia will be conducting several classroom sessions on the barley cycle to educate those attending. There will be agricultural experts there who will help and lend their expertise in the verification process. After the classroom sessions are completed, Nehemia will direct the search and travel throughout the land of Israel, checking the barley.

Please remember to pray for the safety of the elders who will be traveling in Israel, and for a successful trip. We expect to have an encouraging report that will have a significant positive impact on this ministry.

The Truman's

The latest Truman story is entitled "Fear of the Unknown", and is published online in the Kids section. Here is a direct link to it: The Trumans - Fear of the Unknown.

The Blessing of the Third Tithe Year

“At the end of every third year you shall bring out all the tithe of your produce in that year, and shall deposit it in your town. The Levite, because he has no portion or inheritance among you, and the alien, the orphan and the widow who are in your town, shall come and eat and be satisfied, in order that Yahweh your Elohim may bless you in all the work of your hand which you do.” (Deuteronomy 14:28-29; NASU)

At the present time we are half way through the 6th year of the Sabbatical cycle. In the November 2006 issue of this newsletter we published an article entitled, “Understanding the 3rd Tithe Year.” One of the points made in that article is that this tithe is the responsibility of each individual to collect and disperse. This tithe is to be used to help those in need. The passage above specifically mentions the Levite (ministers), the alien (stranger or person not in the faith), the orphan, and the widow (see 1Timothy 5:9-10).

As we fulfill this mitzvah (commandment), it is especially important that we recognize the needs of our spiritual brethren first. This thought was expressed by the Apostle Paul in Galatians 6:9-10. “Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary. So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.” (NASU)

We are therefore asking, that as Yahweh touches your heart, that you would remember our faithful brethren in Kenya. They are poor in the material possessions and creature comforts that have been bestowed upon those of us in the USA and the western world. However, they are rich in faith and dedication to Yahweh and Yahshua. Many must wait in faith for their next meal. Then there are the dedicated ministers who are laboring in love for these who are in need. They bring life to these people through the spiritual bread from heaven and the physical bread that they share. Please don’t forget those of the “household of the faith.”

It is important that we also remember the other ministers as well and see that their needs are taken care of. The sixth year is meant to be a year of abundance in which Yahweh gives a special blessing to all of His people. Yahweh commands His blessing on us in the 6th year of the sabbatical cycle. That blessing is there for three years. “Then the land will yield its produce, so that you can eat your fill and live securely on it. But if you say, ‘What are we going to eat on the seventh year if we do not sow or gather in our crops?’ Then I will so order My blessing for you in the sixth year that it will bring forth the crop for three years. When you are sowing the eighth year, you can still eat old things from the crop, eating the old until the ninth year when its crop comes in.” (Leviticus 25:19-22; NASU)

This important commandment brings a special blessing to those who keep it. "When you have finished paying all the tithe of your increase in the third year, the year of tithing, then you shall give it to the Levite, to the stranger, to the orphan and to the widow, that they may eat in your towns and be satisfied. You shall say before Yahweh your Elohim, 'I have removed the sacred portion from my house, and also have given it to the Levite and the alien, the orphan and the widow, according to all Your commandments which You have commanded me; I have not transgressed or forgotten any of Your commandments. I have not eaten of it while mourning, nor have I removed any of it while I was unclean, nor offered any of it to the dead. I have listened to the voice of Yahweh my Elohim; I have done according to all that You have commanded me. Look down from Your holy habitation, from heaven, and bless Your people Israel, and the ground which You have given us, a land flowing with milk and honey, as You swore to our fathers.'" (Deuteronomy 26:12-15; NASU)

May Yahweh bless and keep all those who love Him and their neighbor, especially those in the faith. We thank Yahweh for all those who diligently keep His Torah and show their love for all.

Yahweh Bless His People,

Your Brethren in Yahweh’s Truth
