[ March/April Newsletter ]

Greetings Brethren, I hope that your light is still shinning brightly after the great Passover and Feast of Unleavened bread. As we count the Omer each day we look forward to the next high holy days. We are commanded to count in Lev. 23:15 “And you shall count from the day after the Sabbath, from the day that you brought the sheaf of the wave-offering; seven Sabbaths shall the be complete: even to the day after the seventh Sabbath shall you number fifty days; and you shall offer a new meal-offering to Yahweh.” I pray that our savior Yahshua the Messiah has your heart and you are faithful to His work and are looking for His appearing.

Repentance To Life

In Acts 11:19-21 many people turned to Yahweh at the preaching of the Sovereign Yahshua. "19 So then those who were scattered because of the persecution that occurred in connection with Stephen made their way to Phoenicia and Cyprus and Antioch, speaking the word to no one except to Jews alone. 20 But there were some of them, men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who came to Antioch and began speaking to the Greeks also, preaching the Master Yahshua. 21 And the hand of Yahweh was with them, and a large number who believed turned to Yahweh." Repentance to life is offered to all now and even then many turned to Yahweh when it was being offered to the Jews only. The door is open, open your hearts to His word and make the change. The word turned in the Strong’s concordance is # 1994 Epistrepho, which means to revert (literally, figuratively or morally): convert, (re-) turn. Is the word of Yahweh having that affect on you? If not you need to look deeply into what you are doing with your life and figure out what your purpose is for being here. Almighty Yahweh has given each of us a purpose for being created.

When Peter was answering the challenge given to him by the Jews in Acts 11:3 he said: I was in the city of Joppa praying; and in a trance I saw a vision, an object coming down like a great sheet lowered by four corners from the sky; and it came right down to me, 6 and when I had fixed my gaze on it and was observing it I saw the four-footed animals of the earth and the wild beasts and the crawling creatures and the birds of the air. 7 I also heard a voice saying to me, ‘Get up, Peter; kill and eat.’ 8 But I said, ‘By no means, Master, for nothing unholy or unclean has ever entered my mouth.’ 9 But a voice from heaven answered a second time, ‘What Yahweh has cleansed, no longer consider unclean.’ 10 This happened three times, and everything was drawn back up into the sky. 11 And behold, at that moment three men appeared at the house in which we were staying, having been sent to me from Caesarea. 12 The Spirit told me to go with them without making distinction. These six brethren also went with me and we entered the man’s house. 13 And he reported to us how he had seen the angel standing in his house, and saying, ‘Send to Joppa and have Simon, who is also called Peter, brought here; 14 and he will speak words to you by which you will be saved, you and all your household.’ 15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell upon them just as it did upon us at the beginning. 16 And I remembered the word of the Master, how He used to say, 'John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.' 17 Therefore if Yahweh gave to them the same gift as He gave to us also after believing in the Master Yahshua Messiah, who was I that I could stand in Yahweh’s way?” 18 When they heard this, they quieted down and glorified Yahweh, saying, “Well then, Yahweh has granted to the Gentiles also the repentance to life.” Repentance to life has been offered to all men brethren so we must get busy preaching this message to the world to fulfill the great commission. Yahshua will not return until people are saying blessed is he who comes in the name of Yahweh. Are you ready to do your part? To many people are only concerned with their own lives and therefore walking away from their calling to serve Almighty Yahweh. Are you living up to the calling and returning to the savior of your life to receive the salvation promised to Israel?

Almighty Yahweh has granted repentance to life to all who would receive it. Remember our purpose is not for our selves but for the praise and glory of Yahweh. We have been saved by His grace and mercy our life is not our own, we were bought with a price the blood of Yahshua the Messiah. "Now it is [Elohim] who has made us for this very purpose and has given us the Spirit as a deposit, guaranteeing what is to come. 2 Cor. 5:5"

We normally perform self-examination prior to the cleansing and atoning sacrifices of Passover and the Day of Atonement. However, Paul shows that our lives each day must include self-reflection and sincere self-assessment. Examining one’s self involves scrutinizing one’s life comparing it to the principles found in the sacred Scriptures. It involves looking closely and honestly at all of one’s thoughts and behavior and evaluating himself. We can think of a lawyer asking probing questions about a matter to uncover the facts. He asks questions that the witness may not have considered himself about the situation, but which are intended to encourage the witness to look more closely at the facts than they may already have. This is the approach we must take to our self- examination. Become a hard-nosed attorney with regard to your own life one that is determined to get to the truth no matter how much it may hurt. Ask yourself the hard questions and accept the facts as they are revealed to you. This is the only way for you to know for certain that you are in the faith.

Feast of Unleavened Bread

Shalom brethren.

We concluded the days of the feast successfully. Here in Kenya we held the feast in various centers, which are quite a distance apart. The brethren from Nairobi and Naivasha had assembled at Limuru which is our headquarter, in Kisii region the brethren had converged at deacon Rafael's place where YPTC owns a meeting hall, while in Bomet region, there were three centers namely kapkatet, Saoset and Sogoo. Elder Njoroge and deacon Wambugu were in charge at Limuru, which recorded the most number of the brethren who sat for Yahshua's memorial. At least thirty brethren were present and more visitors from the neighborhood would flock in during evening services. Edward and Mumira had traveled to Kisii and they said they were very impressed and inspired by the zeal and diligence the brethren here showed concerning the scriptures and worship of Yahweh. About fifteen brethren sat for Yahshua's memorial. Elder Julius and deacon Andrew took charge of the Bomet region. The whole of this region has many brethren but in different places. Those who were able to attend Yahshua's memorial were about twenty.

Yahweh bless you. Mumira.

Teaching in Kissi

The Men of Kissi and Elders

We had a wonderful feast in the USA as well with brethren taking the memorial in Pennsylvania, California, Louisiana, Virginia and Trinidad, WI. The brethren came together in a spirit of love on the night to be much observed with about 35 brethren in attendance in Pennsylvania. Almighty Yahweh is blessing His people greatly with the knowledge of Himself. We grew closer to Yahweh by spending every day of the feast with Him in services on the Sabbaths and bible study throughout the week. The more time you spend with the Father the closer you are drawn to Him. We are counting each day towards Pentecost as we are commanded looking forward to spending a double Sabbath with Almighty Yahweh.

Israelis: Best Time to Bomb Iran Is During US Election Campaign
Wednesday, 02 May 2012 01:57 PM
By Arnaud De Borchgrave

Arnaud de Borchgrave reports — A sense of inevitable war with Iran seized Israel as its two principal leaders — Prime Minister Benyamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Ehud Barak — concluded 1) Iran is about to produce a nuclear bomb; 2) planned to use it to wipe out Israel; 3) the time for Israel to bomb Iran’s nuclear production sites is now (i.e., at the height of the U.S. presidential campaign when neither candidate would risk losing by criticizing Israel).

Israel’s three principal former intelligence directors — Shin Bet, Mossad and Army — retired last year and came out strongly against a preemptive attack. Israel’s top general, Chief of Staff Benny Gantz, also disagreed with his boss the defense minister.

He thinks diplomatic pressures and economic sanctions against Iran's mullahs are beginning to work. Gantz was also quoted as saying he thinks Iran's decision-makers are "very rational." Barak replied he was skeptical the pressures thus far had persuaded Tehran to change intentions about nuclear weapons, a secret drive that started shortly after the 1979 revolution. Gantz then said he had been misquoted and got back on his boss' message: "The military force is ready. Not only our forces, but other forces as well."

The difference between the two camps was one of timing. Gantz believes there is no hurry this year. Netanyahu believes the U.S. presidential campaign is critical. Not only would the Republican challenger, presumably Mitt Romney, and President Obama refrain from chastening, they might even compete in praising. A common thread in the thinking of Israel’s former intelligence chiefs is Iran’s capacity and capability for the kind of retaliatory actions that would mine and momentarily close the Hormuz Strait and drive oil prices skyward.

The U.S. recently deployed a second aircraft carrier task force in the Arabian Sea close to Hormuz and doubled the number of minesweepers from four to eight inside the Gulf based at U.S. 5th Fleet HQ in Bahrain. The U.S. also fielded an undisclosed number of 5th generation stealth fighter-bomber F-22 Raptors to a base in the same general area, which could be Qatar, near Bahrain, where the U.S. leases a base with the longest runway in the Middle East.

U.S. military deployments in the general vicinity of Iran are designed to induce concessions as the five permanent members of the Security Council (U.S., UK, France, Russia, China) and Germany meet an Iranian team in Baghdad May 23.

Another war at this juncture could deal a death blow to the European Union, now teetering on the edge of collapse, torn between austerity preached by Germany and northern European member nations, and printing more Euros, which southern European states (Spain, Portugal, Greece) need to avoid collapse.

A quarter of Spain’s university graduates have not found jobs in three years. “The Tehran Triangle,” a new page-turner by former Air Force Secretary Thomas C. Reed (Ford and Carter Administrations) with Sandy Baker, says we are looking at the wrong continent for Iran’s nuclear eruption.

In the mid-1970s, Reed was the youngest ever director of the National Reconnaissance Office whose very existence was held secret until the end of the Cold War. In the 1980s, Reed was a special assistant to President Reagan for national security policy.

He began his career during the years of Sputnik and the missile gap. He once designed two thermonuclear weapons at Livermore that were fired over the Pacific in 1963.

In “Triangle,” a young, radicalized, 2nd generation American-Iranian couple is recruited to build a bomb outside El Paso. The other corners of the triangle are Juarez and Tehran. A fast moving CIA agent unravels the plot, a blend of the ease of crossing the southern border and Iran’s hostility toward the U.S. circa 2012.

Only 1,300 pounds of gold buy 1,300 pounds of refined uranium to build and detonate Iran’s nuclear surprise in what the mullahs regard as the evil empire.

Meanwhile, in the real world President Obama’s quick roundtrip (26 hours of flying, seven hours on the ground at Bagram air base near Kabul) was designed to wind down the longest war in U.S. history while at the same time pledging a close military alliance with Afghanistan for 10 additional years after the 2014 exit of all combat forces.

In Mr. Obama’s mind al-Qaeda is still the principal enemy in Afghanistan. But this is a make-believe scenario. Al Qaeda was chased out of Afghanistan into Pakistan in the Battle of Tora Bora in early December 2001 — 11 years ago.

Taliban chief Mullah Omar and his terrorist guerrillas were crushed and Kabul liberated Nov. 14, 2001. That would have been a good time to declare victory — and avoid a decade of warfare.

The first anniversary of the SEAL raid that killed Osama bin Laden May 2, 2011, reminds us that was another wasted opportunity. Like it or not, Taliban will have to be part of whatever deal can be negotiated.

News, Notes & Notables

Looking Ahead to the Next New Moon: The new moon for the 3rd scriptural month should be visible the evening of Monday May 21, 2012. So watch.

In Genesis 1:14-18 we see the significance of the heavenly bodies. "Then Elohim said, ‘Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs and seasons, and for days and years; and let them be for lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth;’ and it was so. Then Elohim made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He made the stars also. Elohim set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light on the earth, and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. And Elohim saw that it was good." (NKJV)

Be sure to look for this new moon and report your findings to us by calling 717-383- 6975.

We are commanded to pray for the sick among us in James 5:13-15 " 13Is any among you suffering? Let him pray. Is any cheerful? Let him sing praise. 14 Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of Yahweh: 15 and the prayer of faith shall save him that is sick, and Yahweh shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, it shall be forgiven him. Let us pray for these people who have a petition before Almighty Yahweh.
